Dunedin Organ Festival 2024 – ‘Rising Stars’
At Matariki weekend at the end of June, organists and organ enthusiasts from all over New Zealand are gathering for the Dunedin Organ Festival 2024. The Festival will be exploring the pipe organ heritage of Dunedin and will also be highlighting young players from around New Zealand – the ‘Rising Stars’ of the organ.
The Festival includes three concerts open to the public:
Friday 28 June at 5.30pm at St Paul’s Cathedral: ‘Visions of Heaven’ - Click here for details
Presented by City Choir Dunedin accompanied at the organ by Jeremy Woodside.
Tickets from Eventfinda and Beggs MusicWorks: $30 (students $10; children free).
Saturday 29 June at 2pm at Iona Church, Port Chalmers: ‘Pipes at the Port’ - Click here for details
A concert on the historic organ at Iona Church played by David Burchell, Jeremy Woodside and some of our ‘Rising
Stars’. Admission by donation (cash only!) at the door.
Sunday 30 June at 2pm at Dunedin Town Hall: ‘Festival Finale’ - Click here for details
‘Norma’ the Town Hall Organ played by Dunedin City Organist David Burchell and two of our ‘Rising Stars’, Max Toth and Micah Xiang. Admission by donation (cash only!) on the door.
